This policy describes data handled by Holly’s website and mobile applications. Holly provides social profiles, posts, comments, direct messages, discovery, and activity notifications.
Information we handle
- Account information such as username, email address, profile name, password hash, and optional profile details you choose to provide.
- Content you submit, including posts, comments, profile images, other uploaded media, and direct messages.
- Social activity such as follows, likes, friend requests, reports, blocks, and notifications.
- Daily website and app visit records, including whether a visit was anonymous, authenticated, or associated with a newly created account. Anonymous web visits use a random browser identifier; app visits use a random installation identifier. Authenticated visits are associated with the account.
- Android APK download records, including the download time, source platform, and account or random visitor identifier when available.
- Basic service and security records needed to authenticate accounts, deliver messages, prevent abuse, and operate the service.
The website uses browser storage to remember when an APK download reminder was last shown and a cookie to stop reminders after a download. The mobile app uses a random installation identifier to count daily visits. Real-time message and activity updates use an authenticated connection while the app is active; REST requests provide synchronization when reconnecting.
How information is used
We use this information to provide account access, show content and profiles, deliver messages and activity, enforce community rules, investigate reports, maintain security, and operate the service. Profile and post content may be visible to other Holly users according to the features you use. Direct messages are delivered to their conversation participants.
Daily visit and APK download records are available to authorized administrators for service usage and release monitoring. A browser or app visitor identifier is used to count a visitor once per day and is not an account credential.
Service providers
Holly uses hosting and database infrastructure to operate the service and Cloudinary to store and deliver uploaded media. If you use Google or Apple sign-in on the website, the selected provider returns account information needed to authenticate you. The mobile app currently signs in with a Holly username or email and password.
Retention and deletion
You can request permanent account deletion from the mobile app’s account screen after confirming your password. Deletion removes the account and associated records managed by Holly; limited copies may remain temporarily in routine backups or security records. Content already copied or independently retained by other users cannot necessarily be recalled.
Safety and security
Use the in-app reporting and blocking controls to flag abusive accounts or stop direct conversations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can promise absolute security.
Children
Holly is not designed for children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review it.
